We will again have a joint service on March 6th at 7:30pm with Christ the King at their church at 3330 Route 27 in Kendall Park with an anthem by the combined choirs.
The next Friday Night Book Study is on March 4th at 7:30 pm in the Bolmer Room. We will be discussing Amy Tan’s The Joy Luck Club. If you have an interest in joining us, please speak to either Monica Devanas or Carolyn Hales.
There will be a Youth Group Outing on April 10th to see the musical “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” in Hillsborough at Somerset Valley Players. Please reserve your ticket by 2/25. See Donna Goselin or Tony Thompson.
March 6-12 and March 20-26 – Our weeks in 2011 to help co-host the overflow from the Ozanam Men’s Shelter at Christ Church, New Brunswick. Three volunteers (at least one of whom must be a man) from the two churches spend the night (7pm – 7am) and provide hospitality (no cooking). Come celebrate Mardi Gras and support the Youth Missions Trip. On March 8th from 5-7pm, we will hold our annual Shrove Tuesday pancake supper. Enjoy “carbo-loading” before Lent with pancakes, sausages & ice cream! $7 per adult, $4 per child 10 years and under. Please sign up in Hubbard Hall to help the Youth Group with the event or to attend the supper.
The February 13 Youth Group activity will be the Absalom Jones service at Trinity Cathedral in Trenton. The service begins at 3pm, with a reception following. Car pooling will leave from St. Barnabas at 2pm. Note: This is not a chaperoned event. Parents must attend with youth or make separate arrangements.
Please join members of the MRD in attending the annual Absalom Jones Service THIS Sunday, the 13th of February, at 3pm at Trinity Cathedral. We will carpool from church at 2pm. Please sign up on the bulletin board in Hubbard Hall.
Christopher Garrin is running this fundraiser to raise money for his Eagle Project with Boy Scouts – Troop 10. In early spring he will be building a prayer walk behind St. Barnabas. THIS SUNDAY, he will be selling a dozen red roses for $20 as well as Valentine’s Day cookies and treats. Please stop by after the 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services and buy your Valentine’s Day gifts from Christopher.
